Student experiences Collegium Medicum Bydgoszcz
Report from Anna Dabrowska-Gizińska & Lech Giziński
Dear Friends,
We have just graduated from
Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz and we would like to warmly invite
you to our city and of course to our alma mater. We spent 6
wonderful years not only studying medicine but also having good
time with many cheerful people.
At first we would like to tell you shortly what our typical day looked like, during the clinical stages of our studies. We started our classes usually at 8 am. For the first two hours we participated in the clinical lectures and later, after a short break, we would work with our senior-doctors in the clinical wards for approximately four hours.
Bydgoszcz has nearly 400 000 citizens so it's a quite big city with
lots of things to do in your spare time. In most cinemas, theaters,
museums, operas etc. there are discounts for students and that's
why you can easily arrange your afternoons. Besides, if you like
shopping, there are many malls in which you can not only buy all
you need but also meet your friends in cafes and restaurants, pubs
or bowling centers. In the evening our city's night life blooms. It
doesn't matter if you are a long-haired rock fan or a hardcore
hip-hop fan, we are sure you will find a club suitable for your
musical interest.

If you are not a city-dweller, Bydgoszcz has also a lot to offer. There is a huge park called Myślęcinek located not far from the city centre where you can spend a beautiful day cycling, jogging, horse riding or pond fishing. You can also enjoy a skate fun park there and during winter there is even a small ski-centre and an ice rink on a frozen lake. As you can see, Bydgoszcz is a sport friendly city - we have a diversity of swimming pools, gyms, sport fields and so on. It is also worth to mention that many sport events are held in Bydgoszcz (for example Athletic World Cup) so every sport fan should be satisfied. Our city is surrounded by forests and lakes so whenever you get tired of the city life, you can easily take a canoe trip or simply enjoy nature's silence during the weekends.
Last but not least we would like to ensure you that no matter if
you plan to visit Bydgoszcz to enrich your medical knowledge or
just to have fun, you won't be disappointed.
